About Arkadium's Codeword

Arkadium's Codeword is a crossword puzzle without clues. Instead of hints, every square in the grid contains a number, and each number stands for one letter of the alphabet. The same number always means the same letter, wherever it appears. Crack the code and the whole crossword fills itself in.

How to play

Every letter of the alphabet appears in the grid at least once. To get you started, a few letters are revealed before the game begins, and they appear everywhere their number shows up. Look at the partly filled words and work out which letters could complete them. When you are confident, click a cell and type the letter, or click it on the on-screen keyboard. Every letter you place appears in all the matching cells, giving you new clues for the rest of the grid.

Tips

• Look for short words with only one missing letter.
• Common patterns like THE, ING and ED are often the key to the first breakthrough.
