Picture a quiet table in a warm little cafe, a polished wooden board and a pair of dice waiting for you. That is the mood the Happy Kid Games team set out to capture here. The board is rendered in 3D, and the opponent across from you is a computer player driven by a neural network, so it thinks about its moves instead of just guessing.

How to play

Each side has 15 checkers. Roll, then move by the values on the dice, aiming to gather your whole set inside your home board before bearing them off. Whoever clears the board of their own pieces first takes the game. A single enemy checker sitting alone on a point is vulnerable: land there and it goes to the bar, where it must come back in before that player can move anything else. Every turn has a one minute limit.

Controls

Desktop: a single click on a checker moves it using the larger die, or you can drag it onto any legal point. Press Space to roll and to confirm a move, and Z to take one back. Mobile: tap a checker for the quick move or drag it where you want it. The board is laid out for landscape screens.

Rewards and the shop

A victory pays 200 coins, and winning by a gammon pays 500. Spend your savings in the shop on fresh boards, checker sets and dice, ten of each, with looks drawn from Persian, Ottoman, Arabic, Greek and further traditions.
