About Poptropica

Poptropica is an online adventure world made up of islands. Each island is its own story with its own characters, problems and a quest to solve from start to finish. Some of the quests were written by Jeff Kinney, the author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, which shows in the jokes and the odd characters you meet along the way. It is a gentle game with no time pressure, so it works well for younger players and for anyone who likes point-and-click puzzles.

How to play

Walk around each island, talk to the people you meet and collect items that seem useful. Most puzzles are solved by bringing the right item to the right place or by noticing a clue in a conversation. Finishing an island's quest earns you a medal. Between adventures you can change your character's outfit and hairstyle, decorate your clubhouse, hang out with friends and adopt a pet that follows you on your travels.

Controls

• Walk and jump: click where you want to go. Click above your character to jump.
• Use items: open your backpack and click the item.
• The game can be played fullscreen.

Tips for new explorers

• Talk to everyone twice. Characters often say something new after you have found an item.
• Check your backpack regularly. The answer to a stuck moment is usually something you are already carrying.
• Play one island at a time. Each quest is self-contained, so you never need anything from another island.
